Aegean Motorway SA manages the section of PATHE Motorway from Raches, Fthiotida Prefecture (km 242+079) to Kleidi, Imathia Prefecture (km 471+470), of a total of 229.40 km and the section of the Old National Road from Evangelismos I/C to Leptokarya I/C, of a total of 34.30 km. Amongst others, it features two twin tunnels at Tembi, with lengths 2 and 6 km (T3 is the longest tunnel in the Balkan region) and one twin tunnel at Platamonas with 2,7 km length.

NEW ALERT was selected to supply, install and commission 309 Video Detection Boards (VIP-T by Flir) with embedded incident detection analytics, as well as multi-stream encoding. VIP-T can generate traffic data and incident detection information to support traffic operators with alerts on stopped vehicles, wrong-way drivers, pedestrians, lost cargo, smoke, and traffic flow data.

All traffic data, events, alarms and video images, generated by the VIP Boards, are collected by a number of FLUX video detection servers. FLUX is FLIR’s dedicated video detection software platform, that offers video management capacity and can control network video recorders, video walls, mobile and fixed cameras. In this case, the FLUX servers are directly interfacing with Aegean Motorways’ Motorway Management System.
